2013 Festival News

In tribute to Dennis O’Driscoll's, a new event has been added to the 2013 programme. Join us on Friday, 15 February at 2.30pm for a free public discussion, 'Dennis O'Driscoll Remembered', facilitated by Gerald Smyth, poet, journalist, with the participation of Peter Jay (Anvil Press) Joseph Woods (Poetry Ireland) and Patrick Cotter (Festival Director). Later that evening, after Martina Evans's reading (ticketed) at 8.30pm, a selection of Irish and international poets will read poems by O'Driscoll.

It is with huge personal sadness that the staff of the Munster Literature Centre regrets the sudden passing of the poet and friend Dennis O’Driscoll. Dennis will be missed not only for his own wonderful poetry but for his immense personal generosity and friendship. We plan to celebrate Dennis’s memory as best we can at the festival this year. Check back later for details.
